NOTES FROM THE POST OFFICE:

Hello! As many of you may have noticed, the local Post Office has a new Postmaster and Clerk. I am the new Postmaster and my name in Peggy Weidknecht (Wide Neck). I live in Amargosa Valley and travel daily to work in Beatty. My husband, Art and I have a home in Amargosa and will not be moving to your lovely community, but I intend to be a familiar sight at as many functions as possible.

The new Clerk in the Post Office is Kynda Brown. She also lives in Amargosa Valley. She can be seen every morning busily working at the counter and putting mail up. You are welcome to come by and meet us both so we get to know you.

As an item of business, I understand that many of you are having difficulty with State and Federal agencies not accepting your P.O. Box number on applications, etc. I would like to give you three options for meeting their needs as well as the postal rules.

Your Name
Physical Address #0000 (zeros are your box number)
Beatty, NV 89003
This format satisfies their need for a physical address, but also gives us your box number for delivery purposes.
Your Name
Physical Address
Box #000
Beatty, NV 89003
This format again satisfies both requirements for agencies without the dreaded P.O. designation.
Your Name
Physical Address
Beatty, NV 89003-0000
This format allows us to identify your P.O. Box for delivery without having to scour our lists and delay delivery of your mail and packages.
