The 7 member Open Space Committee was created in the fall of 2008 by request of the Santec Company. It has recently been appointed by the Beatty Town Advisory Board to review all materials submitted to date.

The Open Space Committee is charged with reviewing the Stantec plan and reporting to the Beatty Town Advisory Board any recommendations, to present an analysis of the Town's resources and needs for open space and recreation, and offer a revised action plan for meeting those needs. The Committee must follow the guidelines set by the Town Advisory Board. The updated Plan will enable the Town to both identify priorities for open space preservation, the creation of recreational opportunities, and allow for the economic growth of Beatty.

The Beatty Town Advisory Board passed the Open Space Plan on October 14, 2009. On Nov. 3, 2009 the Nye County Commissioners Passed the Beatty Open Space Plan with Resolution 2009-56.
